The Historical and Local History Museum of the Magzhan Zhumabayev District is a significant cultural and educational institution established to preserve, study, and promote regional culture and spiritual heritage. The museum is located in the town of Bulaevo, the administrative center of the Magzhan Zhumabayev District in the North Kazakhstan Region. The museum officially began its activities in 2002. Its primary mission is to provide a comprehensive representation of the district’s history, its ethnographic, archaeological, and natural-geographical features, as well as the life and creative legacy of the outstanding poet and national pride - Magzhan Zhumabayev. The museum's exhibitions and collections are regularly updated, and its research and exhibition activities continue to expand.

The museum's exposition includes five thematic halls arranged in chronological order. Each hall is designed based on a carefully developed concept and provides an in-depth exploration of the respective theme:

1. Hall “History of the District from the 18th Century to 1917” - presents materials on the ethnic composition, socio-political structure, and development of the region in the early historical period. Exhibits include archaeological finds, household items, and written sources illustrating the era.

2. Hall “History of the District from 1917 to 1991” - highlights the socio-economic transformations of the Soviet period, including collectivization, famine, political repression, and the participation of local residents in the Great Patriotic War. It features photographs, documents, and eyewitness testimonies.

The exhibition includes copies of his personal documents, photographs, literary works, and materials reflecting his life journey. It also showcases the results of scholarly research devoted to the poet.

4. Hall of Independence - tells the story of the achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the years of sovereignty, as well as the socio-cultural development of the district during this period. Documents, photographs, and modern exhibits illustrate the key milestones in the formation of the independent state.

5. Hall of Nature - provides scientific information about the geographical features of the district, its flora and fauna. The exposition includes dioramas and models that highlight the richness and conservation of the region’s natural environment.

The museum staff actively engage in research work focused on the local history, archaeology, ethnography, and the creative legacy of Magzhan Zhumabayev. The museum hosts annual thematic exhibitions, academic conferences, cultural events, and local history classes for schoolchildren.

The museum collaborates closely with educational institutions, serving as an additional source of knowledge about regional history. Moreover, it implements cultural and educational projects such as “The Alash Movement,” “Customs and Traditions of the Kazakh People,” and “Legacy of Great Figures,” aimed at fostering historical awareness and a sense of national identity among youth.
