Moyinkum district museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbaev

The Moyinkum District Museum has been operating on a voluntary basis since 1973. Until 1986, it was a branch of the Regional Historical and Local Lore Museum.

Since 1987, the museum has been named the "Historical Museum of the Life and Lifestyle of Shepherds named after the twice Hero of Socialist Labor Zh. Kuanyshbayev," catering to the interests of the people.

Since 1999, by the decision of the District Akim, it has been designated as the state communal state-owned enterprise "District Museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbayev."

Since 2005, the museum has been the state communal state-owned enterprise "Moyinkum District Museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbayev" of the Department of Culture of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region.

In 2009, it was re-registered as the state communal state-owned enterprise "Moyinkum District Museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbayev" of the Department of Culture of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region.

In 2013, it was re-registered as the state communal state-owned enterprise "Moyinkum District Museum named after Jazylbek Kuanyshbayev" of the Department of Culture, Archives, and Documentation of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region.

In 2016, it was re-registered as the state communal state-owned enterprise "Moyinkum District Museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbayev" of the Department of Culture, Archives, and Documentation of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region.

In 2024, it was re-registered as the state communal state-owned enterprise "Moyinkum District Museum named after Zh. Kuanyshbayev" of the Department of Culture and Language Development of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region. The museum is housed in a single-story building with an area of 220 sq.m., with the storage facility occupying 100 sq.m.

• Conducting scientific and educational work on the historical and cultural traditions, customs, and rituals of the district.

• Organizing excursions, talks, and meetings.

Archaeology:

• Conducting scientific research, collecting exhibits, organizing lectures.
