Regional Memorial Museum named after Aliya Moldagulova, Hero of the Soviet Union
One of the most important military-historical and cultural-educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Aliya Moldagulova Memorial Museum was established in accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR dated June 5, 1980, and the order of the Ministry of Culture dated June 11, 1980. The official opening took place on April 22, 1985 - in honor of the 40th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 60th anniversary of the birth of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Aliya Moldagulova.
The main purpose of the museum's creation was to educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and love for the homeland, as well as to study, preserve, and promote the life and heroic deeds of Aliya Moldagulova. The institution functions as a center for military-patriotic education and plays an important role in shaping the public perception of national heroes.
During the museum’s formation, scientific research, search, and collection activities were conducted in parallel. Information was gathered about Aliya's childhood, her civilian life, and her heroic path during the Great Patriotic War. Within the framework of large-scale expeditions, interviews were conducted with the heroine's relatives, front-line soldiers, commanders, classmates, and teachers, which led to the discovery of valuable historical materials and artifacts.
The grand opening ceremony on April 22, 1985, was attended by representatives of party and Komsomol organizations, military units, war veterans, regional authorities, Aliya’s relatives, and local citizens. The honor of officially opening the museum was given to the heroine’s aunt, Sapurа Moldagulova, and the chairman of the regional executive committee, Sapar Sagintaev. This ceremony became not only an act of opening the museum but also a symbol of eternal memory of the heroine’s feat on her native land.
The museum’s main exhibition features historical photographs, letters, documents, personal belongings, and dioramas depicting Aliya Moldagulova’s childhood, her departure to the front, military valor, final battle, and the awarding of the title Hero of the Soviet Union. In addition, the museum incorporates modern interactive technologies, allowing visitors to deeply immerse themselves in historical events.
The Aliya Moldagulova Museum is not only a historical monument but also a symbol of heroic spirit and national patriotic identity. It serves as a spiritual center where the younger generation learns lessons of courage and love for the homeland. Each year, thousands of schoolchildren, students, and foreign tourists visit the museum to learn about the immortal feat of the Kazakh heroine.
