Kalkan – shield. Made from a steel sheet with a convex shape and brass fittings along the edges. A wide range of types and motifs of ornamentation is used in the decoration. On the outer side, patterns and miniatures depicting foot soldiers, horsemen, and animals are embossed. The inner side of the shield is covered with pink fabric. At the edges of the shield and in the center, inscriptions are presented in the calligraphic style of kufi. 18th century.
