Description

The kimeshek is a traditional national headdress of Kazakh women. It is made of white fabric and designed in a closed form that fully covers a woman’s head, chest, shoulders, and back. The kimeshek served not only as an everyday garment but also as an important symbol reflecting a woman’s age and social status. The front part is decorated with delicate embroidery featuring traditional ornamental patterns. Such embroidery was typically handmade and required a high level of craftsmanship.
