Rubel

Description

A rubel is an old type of iron. It is a long wooden board made from a solid piece of wood, with transverse grooves on the surface. This household item was used for washing and ironing clothes. For ironing, the fabric was folded in half, rolled out lengthwise, and then smoothed by sliding the rubel over the fabric.
