Description

Author: Nazyrov, Zagrutdin. 1909-1989
A steppe landscape featuring a sun-scorched plain with sparse dry grass in the foreground; in the middle ground, water pours from two pipes to form a stream running toward the front edge of the canvas, with a pole driven into the ground to its right. In the background, a house is visible on the left, with livestock pens further right, set against a backdrop of rolling hills. Executed in a plein-air, study-like manner with broad brushstrokes, the forms are broadly generalized. The color scheme harmonizes the warm tones of the sun-bleached steppe with the cool hues of the water and sky.
