A landscape composition featuring a stretch of sandy shore in the foreground, dotted with sparse patches of greenery; three small human figures stand at the water’s edge, while an elongated dark boat rests further to the left. The middle ground is occupied by the tranquil surface of the lake, above which stretches a sky with a ridge of blue-violet and white clouds in the upper part of the composition. Executed in a study-like manner, the work employs broad, generalized brushwork that retains the immediacy of plein-air observation. The color scheme builds on a tonal contrast between the warm, ochre-pink tones of the shore and the cool blue-green hues of the water and sky, while the introduction of staffage figures enlivens the space and sets the scale of the panorama.
