Landscape

Description

Author: Dzhunusov, Marat. 1947-1999
An industrial landscape in the spirit of expressive-decorative realism, depicting a mining settlement in wintertime. In the background is the silhouette of a mine headframe with its characteristic lattice structure, enveloped in frosty haze. The middle ground is filled with telegraph poles and wires. In the foreground are wooden houses with sloping roofs and a green board fence; between the structures are two figures. The coloring is cool and muted, built on grey-blue and brownish tones, with a single vivid accent of red in the human figure. The manner of execution is loose and sketch-like, with broad, decorative brushstrokes. Lower right - signature and date.
