A genre scene: a group of women around a round, laid table. The centre of the composition is occupied by the dastarkhan with tea ware, dishes, and fruit; figures in traditional dress and headdresses are arranged in a dense arc around the table. The construction rests on the combination of the rounded forms of the table and carpet with the placement of the figures. The main colour accent is the seated female figure on the right, in a red dress and dark waistcoat; the remaining figures are treated in a generalized way, with soft modelling of faces and silhouettes. The colour scheme is saturated and decorative, dominated by warm red, orange, yellow, and ochre tones, complemented by white, green, and blue. Signed by the artist at lower left.
