A genre-allegorical composition with a single female figure against a golden field. The woman, in national dress - a red-orange gown and a blue sleeveless vest - is shown full-length, in slight movement, holding a round loaf of bread on a white embroidered towel. She is surrounded by sheaves and ears of wheat that merge with the background into a single environment without deep perspective. The colour scheme is built on saturated warm tones; the handling is textured, impasted, and decorative, with generalized form and contours subordinated to the rhythm of the wheat ears and folds. The image is of a generalized, symbolic character. Signed at lower right.
