A genre scene set inside a yurt, rendered in a free and expressive manner. At the centre of the composition are several female figures in ornate dresses and kimesheks; to the left, lower down, sits the figure of a bride in a saukele. The semantic and colouristic accent is the saturated red-orange cloth stretched between the women’s hands at the centre. Along the edges are indicated the decorative tasselled bands and hangings of the yurt’s furnishings. The colour scheme is warm and decorative, built on a combination of yellow, golden, and red tones with cool blue and greenish touches. An overhead light source coming from the direction of the shanyrak organizes the composition vertically and brings out the central group. The forms are conveyed in a generalized way, without detailed working of the faces; the handling is light and mobile, with an open brushstroke.
