A landscape of horizontal format, sustained in a light, silvery-blue tonality. In the middle portion is a coastal settlement with a scattering of low whitewashed houses with ochre and orange roofs, descending toward the shore. Beyond the settlement, a water surface spreads out in a broad band, in the far distance of which the silhouette of a mountain and the line of low shores stand out. The coloration is built on the combination of the cool tones of water and sky with the warm white and ochre patches of the buildings. The plein-air spontaneity and coloristic structure align the work with the tradition of realist landscape painting.
