Description
Author: Galimbayeva, Aisha. 1917-2008
A narrative-thematic composition incorporating elements of portraiture and still life; treated in the key of genre painting with a generalized, symbolic reading. An intimate scene built on the juxtaposition of generations: two young figures on the left, inclined toward one another in a gesture of trust, and an elderly woman in a white kimeshek on the right, presented frontally and with stately dignity. The still-life element - a bowl of fruit and the abundance of apples scattered across the background - introduces the theme of fertility, ancestral continuity, and prosperity.
The work belongs to the lineage of the national school of painting, marked by the decorative quality of its colour scheme and the generalized character of its plastic language, while preserving ethnographic specificity. Signed lower left.
