A genre-symbolic composition depicting a man and a woman against the background of rural houses beneath a conventionally rendered sky with rhythmically arranged clouds. Between the figures are a tree and a small animal, enhancing the intimate quality of the space. The colour scheme is based on the contrast between the rich blue background and restrained grey-white tones. The painterly manner is naïve-decorative, characterised by a generalised treatment of form and an emphasised symbolism of the imagery. In the lower right corner, there is a signature.
