Description
Mammoth tusks. Discovery location: West Kazakhstan region, 1973. The mammoth is an extinct species of elephants. The upper jaw had two tusks (in large individuals, measuring up to 4.5 m in length, 18-19 cm in diameter, weighing up to 100 kg). The teeth in the jaws were one on each side, large, flat, consisting of layers of enamel. The molars were located in the upper jaw. Used by humans as tools for harvesting ice and water.
