Mill. Gray morning

Description

The landscape depicts an old watermill on the shore of a body of water on a cloudy morning. The compositional center is a small log structure of the mill under a thatched (or reed) roof, built on wooden stilts over the water. To the left of the building, in the foreground, grows a leaning birch tree with a white trunk, its branches partially obscuring the roof of the mill. In the background, behind the structure, a small wooden bridge or dam is visible, along with dense green trees.
