Medal ’40th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945′

Description

L.E. Sedelnikov’s Medal “40 Years of Victory in World War II 1941-1945”. The medal is connected to a five-pointed star through a round suspension and ring. The star is covered with silk ribbon with narrow black, orange, and red stripes. The edges of the ribbon are bordered with thin green stripes. On the front side of the medal, there is a soldier, worker, and collective farmer depicted as part of a sculpture group on the Spasskaya Tower against the backdrop of the Moscow Kremlin, framed within a five-pointed star. The image is surrounded by a laurel branch. The upper part of the medal has engravings of the years “1945” and “1985”. There are inscriptions saying “Uchastniku voyiny” around the upper part of the medal, and the center features the inscription “40 лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945 гг.” divided into seven lines, beneath which icons of a sickle, hammer, and ribbon are depicted. The edges of the medal feature a relief border and all inscriptions and images are also in relief. A pin-type clasp is on the reverse side of the star.
