Description
Charcoal-fired samovar.
Ordinary barrel-shaped body with smooth sides. Hanging oval handles. Curved spigot key. Square base with feet projecting outward. Marks: inscriptions include «1st grade», the Russian Imperial coat of arms, the text «Statute Highest approved 10 April 1898», «Partnership of the Steam Samovar Factory of the heirs of V. S. Batashev in Tula» and impressions of gold and silver medals dated 1870, 1871, 1873, 1883, 1885, and 1893.
