Mat

Description

Mat - a traditional Kazakh decorative and household item used as a soft sitting mat. The exhibit is rectangular in shape. Its front surface is covered with black fabric and filled with clean natural wool. The front side is decorated with national ornaments made with purple, yellow, and green threads. The ornaments are arranged symmetrically and extend from the center in four directions. The edge of the item is trimmed with decorative red fringe, while the sides are decorated with multicolored decorative braid. The mat was used for sitting, as well as for interior decoration and adding a traditional national character to the home.
