Description

Men’s clothing with traditional Kazakh motifs, belonging to Tañirbergen Qalilakhanov, a renowned researcher of the Zhetysu region. He is writer, playwright, ethnographer, journalist, and war and labor veteran. The garment is made of dark blue fabric and has a shape resembling a traditional shapan. The upper part features a standing collar, short sleeves, and a solid-cut front. The collar and front edges are trimmed with decorative golden-colored braid. The same ornamental golden braid is applied along the lower edge of the trousers. Despite its simple and understated cut, the decorative trim emphasizes the traditional Kazakh character of the garment. The top and trousers form a harmonious clothing ensemble.
