Woven mat

Description

A traditional Kazakh ornamental shiy made of threads in various colors. The basis of the object consists of natural shiy stems wrapped with multicolored threads and interwoven horizontally. The surface features geometric and floral ornaments executed in a combination of red, blue, yellow, purple, white, and black colors. The composition includes repeating large diamond-shaped elements, the inner sections of which are decorated with traditional Kazakh ornaments. The patterns feature curls, wave-like motifs, and floral decorative elements. The ornaments are arranged symmetrically, giving the object a distinctive and expressive decorative character. The shiy was woven using a technique involving wrapping the stems with multicolored threads and arranging them in accordance with the ornamental composition.
