Dombra and dombra case

Description

This dombra is a national musical instrument of the Kazakh people and is preserved as a personal item of Tәңірbergen Qalilakhanov, a researcher of the life of writer-dramatist and poet Sara Tastanbekkyzy. The instrument is made of pine. The headstock features two tuning mechanisms, and the neck has frets made from gut. The body is rounded, and the front surface is coated with yellow and brown lacquer. The strings are made from gut.
The dombra case is designed for storing and transporting the instrument. Its overall form is made of wood, and the exterior is covered with leather-like material. The handle is made of plastic, with metal fittings. Metal locks are located on the sides of the neck and body.
