Description:
The photograph “Kazakh Girls and Women” was taken in 1941 in one of the Adai villages near Krasnovodsk. The image depicts young Kazakh women dressed in traditional clothing. Four women are standing, two young girls are seated, and two little girls stand on either side. The seated girls wear beshpent jackets embroidered with gold thread (khadim zer) and adorned with solid silver coins. On their heads are red silk scarves.
