Description

“The Traditional Stone-Carving Art of the Kazakhs.” This work is dedicated to the study of the creative heritage of Kazakh stone-working masters. The art of stone processing is revealed through decorative and household items, tools, as well as memorial monuments carved from stone. In addition, special attention is given to the legacy of folk craftsmen who preserved and applied certain methods and techniques of stone processing in everyday life. This extensive research also includes the results of the author’s expedition in Western Kazakhstan and materials collected from the regional historical and ethnographic museums of our republic.
