Description

Bostek is one of the traditional soft mats of the Kazakh people. It is typically used as a seat inside a yurt or a settled home. The bostek shown in the photo is made using the құрақ technique (patchwork sewing), which gives it a special aesthetic and cultural value.
The item is sewn from soft and dense fabrics. The outer part is made of plush fabric. The color scheme is bright and harmonious: yellow-orange, dark purple (burgundy), and green colors blend organically in the traditional national style. The edges are trimmed with a dark green fabric strip.
In the center, there is a geometric composition in the form of a “star” or “diamond-shaped star,” which is often found in Kazakh patchwork art. The inner part is filled with sheep’s wool.
