Description

Silver 1 – ruble. Сoin minted in 1897 and 1901. The obverse features a profile portrait of Nicholas II, surrounded by the inscription “Б. М. Николай II император и самодержец Всеросс” (By the Grace of God, Nicholas II, Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia). The reverse displays the fifth type of the Russian Empire’s coat of arms, with the inscription “Рубль 1897” (and “1901” on the second coin) at the bottom. The coin’s edge is decorated with the inscription “чистого серебра 4 золотинка 21 доля” (pure silver 4 zolotniks 21 dolya).
Mark КП-62/1 features the Brussels Mint’s mark - “**” (star), and this type was used as jewelry.
Mark КП-62/2 bears the Saint Petersburg Mint’s mark - “Felix Zalenen” (FZ) - minister. This type was used as a button.
