Description

Inductor Desk Telephone
The body and handset are made of black Bakelite (an early durable plastic). The cord is covered with a woven fabric braid. The crank handle of the manual magneto (inductor), mounted on the right side, is made of metal and Bakelite.
Body: The lower part is slightly wider, giving the body a stable rectangular-trapezoidal shape. The top surface features the manufacturer’s embossed emblem (logo) enclosed within a circular frame.
Handset and cradle: The upper part of the body is fitted with a two-pronged Bakelite cradle (switch hook) for supporting the handset. The ergonomic handset, combining the receiver and transmitter capsules, rests horizontally on the cradle.
Connecting cord: A coiled connecting cord with a tightly woven fabric covering extends from the left end of the handset and connects to the left side of the telephone body.
Inductor crank: A hand-operated crank handle is mounted on the right side of the body and is used to generate a call signal for the telephone operator or another subscriber.
