Description

A traditional Kazakh vessel for storing and transporting liquids, most often kumys, shalaba, ayran, or water. It is made from leather, usually camel leather. The leather is pre-treated, tanned, and then hand-stitched. The shape is trapezoidal with a wide base and a narrow neck. The neck is equipped with a wooden lid and is complemented by a decorative carving. Two straps are attached on either side of the neck. Patterns are applied on both sides. Right in the middle is a graphic symbol of the sun and authority. The neck has a stopper with a long wooden handle.
