Description
This buckle, dating back to the Early Iron Age, is cast in an oval shape. One end features a loop-like protrusion, indicating that it was used as an attachment for clothing, weapons, or horse tack. The image of a deer is rendered in a stylized form - elongated antlers, a curved neck, and the body shape are clearly distinguishable. The deer motif is a common symbol in the art of the Saka, Huns, and Wusun peoples. It was considered a representation of strength, nobility, harmony with nature, and spiritual connection. Such items were typically found in the gear of warriors, rulers, or used as ritual objects.
Condition
The overall condition is well-preserved. Signs of corrosion are present, but the decorative elements (the deer figure) remain clearly visible. Restoration work is required.
