Description

Leather belt (kise belbeu), an accessory for the clothing of Kazakh warriors, hunters, and livestock breeders. The belt is adorned with buckles that were once covered in silver and gilded. It has fasteners at the ends. It was also worn as a ceremonial belt. Made in the 18th century.
Origin: 1988. Gifted by a resident from the Zhetykonur area, M. Baikadamov.
