Description
The exhibit is a traditional wooden chest used for storing clothing, household belongings, and other personal property. The wooden body is externally covered with thin sheet metal. Its surface is painted green and decorated with alternating geometric diamond-shaped motifs in blue and brown. Metal handles are attached to both side panels for carrying the chest. A fitting for attaching a lock is located in the center of the front panel. The object is a representative example of traditional Kazakh handicraft and domestic material culture of the 20th century, reflecting customary methods of household storage. The condition is satisfactory, with the principal structural and decorative elements preserved.
