Description
The women’s copper bracelet dates to the 20th century and represents an example of traditional Kazakh decorative and jewelry craftsmanship. The bracelet has an open construction and gradually widens toward its ends. A red stone is set in a special mount at the center of the bracelet. Surrounding the central insert is an ornamental composition based on horn-shaped scrolls resembling the traditional qoshqar müyiz motif, one of the characteristic forms of Kazakh ornamentation. The design is supplemented with small repoussé dots. The decorative surface was produced using stamping and carving techniques. The copper base and ornamental elements are well preserved, with no visible deformation.
