The composition is based on an open steppe landscape that conveys the state of nature during a strong wind. The low horizon emphasizes the vastness of space and the dominance of the sky. The trees and shrubs in the middle ground are bent and bowed by the gusts of wind, their silhouettes are dynamic. The lines of the land, strokes, and washes of ink are directed diagonally, visually conveying the movement of air currents.
