Spherocone

Description

A sphero-conical vessel made of yellow-gray clay, ellipsoidal in shape with a body widened in the upper third, a conical bottom and high shoulders. Along the border of the platform and shoulders there are two lines drawn by a tool when rotating the vessel on a potter’s wheel. The shoulders are decorated with paired beveled incised strokes and beveled rows of impressed impressions of a round stamp. Dating: 5th-10th centuries. Material: ceramics. Technique: pottery.
