Description

“25th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”
The badge is designed in the shape of a five-pointed star with faceted rays. Between the rays are smaller faceted strips forming a multi-rayed composition. Superimposed on the star is a wreath of oak leaves, in the center of which is depicted a Soviet soldier in summer field uniform of the period, wearing a helmet. In his left hand the soldier holds a PPSh-41 submachine gun, and in his right hand he holds the shaft of a red flag unfurled to the left. Under the enamel, longitudinal grooves create the impression of folds in the fabric. In the canton of the flag is a red five-pointed star with a hammer and sickle beneath it. Turning to the right (towards the West), the soldier tramples with his right foot upon the black imperial eagle of fascist Germany. To the right of the flagstaff are the dates “1945-1970” in two lines. The lower part of the wreath is covered with a red ribbon bearing the inscription: “25 years of victory in the war of 1941-1945.”The badge is attached by a suspension ring to a heptagonal shield, the upper and shoulder sides of which have segment-shaped cutouts. Across the shield, from top right to bottom left, runs the image of the St. George ribbon, over which a laurel branch is placed perpendicularly. All elements of the badge are golden in color.
