Iron

Description

This iron is an old household item used for ironing clothes by heating with coal or embers. It is made of thick cast iron and has a heavy weight. On the top, there is a hinged lid, inside of which is a special compartment for coal or embers. A wooden handle was installed to protect against heat. The iron has ventilation holes that regulated the internal heat and ensured continuous burning of the coal. Such irons were widely used in Kazakh villages until the mid-20th century.
