Description
This torsyk is a leather vessel of the nomadic Kazakh people, intended for storing liquids. It was mainly used for storing and transporting kumys, shubat, and other beverages during long journeys. The artifact is made from tanned animal hide and shaped into form. The upper part is finished with an elongated neck resembling a jug, while the sides are widened like wings. At the neck, two metal rings are attached, through which a leather strap is threaded, allowing the torsyk to be hung on a saddle or cart. The surface of the vessel is decorated with ornaments, reflecting the traditional artistic perception of the Kazakh people.
