Iron

Description

An everyday item for smoothing out wrinkles in clothing. The forged hollow base is made of cast iron. It is used by heating and igniting coals inside the iron. A sturdy handle, mounted on a metal lid over the drop-down opening, is made of wood.
Dating: early 20th century.
