Iron

Description

Household item for smoothing out clothing wrinkles. The forged hollow sole is made of cast iron. It is used by heating and igniting coals inside the iron. The sturdy handle, mounted on a metal lid at the base of the flip-up opening, is made of wood.
Dating: early 20th century.
Technique: factory production.
