Description

“Enshi beru” is one of the ancient traditions of the Kazakh people. In this tradition, parents would divide property or a plot of land necessary for running a household among their children. This custom was considered an important sign of a son’s independence. The custom of giving an inheritance had its own established rules. S. Kudaiberdiev, in his writing “One of the Old Kazakh Customs – Inheritance,” explains the meaning and procedure of the Kazakh custom of giving an inheritance. The author of the manuscript is Akhat Shakarimuly.
The manuscript was obtained from the personal archive of Akhat Kudaiberdiev in 1986.
