Coin of the Turgesh Khaganate

Description

With a square hole in the center. There is a convex edge along the edge of the coin. There is also a lip around the central hole. The front side is a circular Sogdian legend, written in italics, counterclockwise. The legend consists of 4 words: “ВуУо twrkys үюүйй9н pny” - “Mr. Turgesh Khagan”. The reverse side is the tamga of the Turgesh, inscribed in the field of the coin between the thick-lined rim and the square hole. The square hole is highlighted with a rhombus, as part of the tamga.
