Description

Tuvak - a sanitary and hygienic vessel made of well-kneaded, dense red clay with a small amount of fine sand particles. The inner and outer surfaces of the vessel are covered with light-colored slip, over which a layer of transparent, colorless glaze has been applied. The surface of the vessel walls features two-color underglaze decoration in brown and brick-red, consisting of small brushstrokes arranged in vertical rows. Perforations are present at the transition from the rim to the body. The body is cylindrical in shape. The inner surface of the body features impressed concentric lines. The vessel was made using the wheel-throwing technique.
