Description

A lamp heel is made from well-kneaded, dense, light-brown dough with traces of fine sand particles. The surface is covered with a layer of brown glaze (partially lost). The heel is shaped like a cat’s head, with protruding ears and cheeks. The ornamentation is stamped. The eyes, framed by crescent moons, are carved into the intended muzzle, and the mouth is carved in two arcs that join to form a wave.
