Description
Southern Kazakhstan. Baskur – a patterned woven trim used for decorating yurts, as well as for the external tightening of junctions with the kerege. It consists of twisted woolen threads. The composition of the ornament is executed in the alternating technique of terme. It includes the alternation of stripes with patterns – “juzteru” in black and red colors; diamonds with inscribed patterns “tortqulaq”. The edges of the baskur are bordered with a strip featuring wave patterns in red and white colors.
