Description
A leather device placed on the head of an eagle, covering both eyes. The tomaga is used when washing the bird, and also at times when the eagle is not hunting, helping it remain calm and stay perched without flying. The part that covers the head is shaped like a helmet, with a protrusion at the front to accommodate the eagle’s beak. A strap is fastened under the throat to secure the hood.
