Description
A piece of leather equipment placed on the head of an eagle, covering both eyes. The tomaga is used when washing the bird, and at other times when it is not hunting, helping the eagle remain calm and still without attempting to fly. The part that goes over the head is shaped like a helmet, with a protrusion at the front to accommodate the eagle’s beak. A strap is fastened under the throat to secure it.
