Saukele is a women’s wedding headdress. The crown is made of red, the band is made of brown velvet, on a thin felt base, the lining is made of cotton fabric “in a flower”. The back of the shovel-shaped crown is higher than the front, sheathed in silver braid. the front part of the crown is decorated with diamond-shaped metal plaques, two stripes of braid. The lower part, slightly widening towards the bottom, is decorated with 26 two stripes of braid, patterned plaques with turquoise are sewn on top of the upper one. Three blades are sewn forming a triangular-shaped earpiece and headphones. red silk ribbons are sewn to the headphones.
