2 Tiyn Banknote

Description

This artifact is a 2 tiyn banknote issued by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1993 as part of the first series of the country’s national currency following independence. The obverse features a decorative rosette with the large numeral “2”, the denomination “EKI TIYN”, the year 1993, and the name of the National Bank of Kazakhstan in the Kazakh language. The serial numbers (No. 4865220 and No. 9064764) are printed vertically along the left side, while the series appears at the bottom. The reverse depicts the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the denomination and ornamental security patterns. The banknote is an important numismatic artifact illustrating the establishment of Kazakhstan’s independent monetary system in the early years of statehood.
