Kassaba

Description

“Kassaba” - a decorated headdress for a girl. Made of dark cherry velvet, round in shape with a high brim and a pointed top, which transitions into a triangle and descends toward the other side. The brim and top of the cap are embroidered with a vegetal pattern of “flowers and leaves,” crafted with gold threads and chenille. Ribbons-galloon are sewn along the edge of the cap. Four 19th-century silver coins are sewn on the front. Handmade. One of the first exhibits in the collection of the Western Kazakhstan Regional Historical and Local History Museum.
